Welcome to the OUGS
South West Branch Website

South West Events

To see a full list of ALL OUGS events please visit the OUGS main website.

We try to organise a varied program of events, covering diverse topics; for example sedimentary structures to mining archaeology, and we try to spread these around our branch area.

As the saying goes 'You can't please all of the people all of the time', but if you don't like what is on offer then please make a suggestion.  We don't expect you to organise it or be trip leader but the committee can only come up with a limited number of ideas.

Guests are always welcome. It is a great way to form links between groups in the local area and find out what works for those groups.

Please contact the organiser to register your interest, you are not committing yourself but it is very helpful to the organiser if they know to plan for 2 or 20.

Finally, we will try to put a last minute confirmation of trip times and meeting places in the news section in the menu on the left hand side of this web page.

We will only post events that are confirmed in this list.

There are always other events in the pipeline but as this list is taken as the basis for the printed list in the national newsletter it becomes confusing if we subsequently change dates, locations, or the topic being covered.
