Geology and Earth Related Sciences for All
A bit about the Branch:
The East Midlands Branch is one of 18 Branches of the Open University Geological Society covering Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. Both the Branch and the Society organise a varied programme of field trips to venues both locally and throughout the UK, Ireland, Mainland Europe and further afield, and support the local and Society membership in their study and enjoyment of Earth Sciences. We endeavour to welcome new and prospective members to join us in "learning by doing" in the field and to keep the branch membership informed of our activities and findings through our Branch Newsletters and through this site. See our Events Diary entries for what we have lined up in the next little while! We are also planning ahead for many events, so keep coming back to see what we're up to and where we're going! You may know of an interesting locality close to you which may be of interest - if so, let us know!
Our next field trip takes place on Saturday 27th June, when we will be visiting Middlegate and the Humber Coast, looking at Cretaceous and Quaternary sediments with time for a bit of fossil hunting.
Following this, the next trip will take place on Tuesday 4th August during the working day, with a visit to Croft Quarry in Leicester.

OUGS Sales webpage:
A new link to the OUGS Sales webpage has been added to the menu on the left. From here, you will be able to view the many geology-related items for sale and you can download an order form if you wish to make a purchase. You can get anything you need, from clothing, books and stuff for field trips, to things for your desk or even gifts. Have a look to see if there is anything you fancy!

Checking your membership details:
If you wish to check your membership details (including your subscription status), you can do this from this website. Simply select Membership Services and fill in your surname and OUGS membership number where prompted. You will then be able to see your membership details, including when your subscription renewal is due.
