Welcome to East Anglian Geology.

 

At first sight, due to the low lying terrain, you might not think that East Anglia has much to offer in the way of Geology, but you could be surprised. There are Lithologies covering the mid/late Mesozoic to the present day, and active processes that can be observed on many coastal sections.

Most of the Geology will appeal to Sedimentologists, although there is Igneous & Metamorphic material to be found, either deposited as glacial material, or brought in from outside for Sea Defences.

Much of the Geology is not evident, but just read the signs and discover the many different facets of East Anglian Geology for yourself. Join us for some field trips around this fascinating area! See the Events list for our current programme.
